Adventure Sites in Korvann#

One of the Bleak’s places on Adventure Sites, which has the map of every site. Using a site says how to run one.

Where the old dwarven delvings under Jewall broke too far down and woke the cold. Frozen galleries and ore shafts that never thaw, all the way under New Saellem. 12 sites, levels 5 to 34.

The Frostvein Adit

Levels 5-8 · Sub Surface Mine · Beneath Jewall

The head of the Frostvein Delve, where the ice-stair from Bitterpeak lets down into the old dwarven workings. Rime furs every prop and pick-mark, and the played-out veins run east toward the glacier galleries.

The Glacier Galleries

Levels 6-8 · Glacier Cave · Beneath Jewall

Where the delve cut into the flank of a buried glacier. Galleries of blue-green ice loop around a black frozen lake, columns of fused ice holding up the roof, the way running east toward the ore-shafts and the vault beyond.

The Orefall Shafts

Levels 7-9 · Sub Surface Mine · Beneath Jewall

The deepest of the Frostvein workings, where the great vein runs and a winze drops to the Rimeward Vault below. The delvers dug past all sense here; their wights still work the shafts, and their warden waits at the bottom of the winze.

The Rimeway Haulhead

Levels 8-10 · Glacier Cave · Beneath Jewall

The north end of the Rimeway, the cart road the Korvann delvers drove south out of the Frostvein workings to chase a vein of frost-silver. Its haulhead was a working waystation of winches, sidings, bunks and tally-stones; now the glacier has crept in from the east, the crews lie frozen where they slept, and the road runs on west toward the Sundering Cut.

The Sundering Cut

Levels 9-11 · Talus Cave · Beneath Jewall

The middle of the Rimeway, where the road crosses the fault the delvers opened when they dug past the root of the frost-silver vein. The floor split north to south and the west side dropped; a rope bridge and a lower ford cross the Sundering, the foreman's offices stand empty above it, and a winze sinks to the Breach, where the delving broke into the old dark and something below began to push back.

The Blackwater Sump

Levels 10-11 · Fracture Cave · Beneath Jewall

The south end of the Rimeway, where the road ran down into black water. Here the cold of Korvann meets the drowned warrens of Narsis: ice skins the shallows of the Black Mere, Narsian scavvers camp among the dwarves' sunken carts, and an old Narsian road spirals away south toward the Drowned Warrens under the Mellowdeep.

The Tunnels of Tyr: the Forge Stair

Levels 13-16 · Sub Surface Mine · Beneath Jewall

The north end of the Tunnels of Tyr, the dwarven road that runs south under the mountain from the Great Forge of Jewall to the dungeons under the keep of Tharsis. A broad stair climbs from it through the Descent Gate into the Fireforge Chasm. Around the stair foot lie the wagon bay and carters' rest of the haulers who took Jewall's ingots south, the guilds' tally house and the pillar of return, and beyond the slag drain an abandoned gallery given over to stone creepers.

The Cairn Shore

Levels 18-21 · Fracture Cave · Beneath Jewall

The western shore of the Hollowmere, where the Frostvein delvers' east drift came out of the rock onto a lake no one had known was there, frozen solid and hollow beneath. The crews built the Cairn House on the shingle as a waystation, fished the shallows where water still moves under the ice, and ran a road of numbered cairns east across the black ice. The house stands empty with the bowls still on the table. Skaters web the old shore caves, the drowned crews walk the rotten ice where their sledges went through, and borers are tunnelling west in straight, hurried lines, as if something were behind them.

The Black Ice

Levels 21-24 · Glacier Cave · Beneath Jewall

The open middle of the Hollowmere, where the delvers' ice road runs cairn to cairn across black ice over a hollow where the lake's water used to be. Midway the lid has fallen through into the Breaking, and the road goes round it: north over pressure ridges where the frozen wyrms den, or south past a lost sledge train and its drowned crew. A knotted rope hangs over the Breaking into the hollow, where the wyrm-mother keeps her den on the old lakebed. East of the midmere cairn the ice sings, the rime grows violet, and everything that lived on the mere lies frozen where it ran, pointed west. The last cairn stands at the far shore, and past it a bored passage leads on into a dark that hums.

The Kings' Undercroft

Levels 26-29 · Crypt · Beneath New Saellem

The forgotten undercroft of the first kings of Crecia, cut under the Openrange plateau to serve the hidden fleet that sailed from the Dark Peninsula: barrel vaults of grey stone carved with a crowned ship, storerooms of rope and tar and sails frozen solid, a chart room, a sea-chapel full of votive ships, and a slipway down to a sea-gate under the cliff. Silent Choir marines who escaped the fall of the Shadow Docks went to ground here and barricaded the long vault against the east. Then the pods came down through the plateau, and the Seekers came through the wall. Most of the marines lie where they fell or where the Seekers laid them out; a few still hold the chart room. Seeker bores riddle the vaults, and one runs west into the dark toward the Hollowmere.

The Pod-Fall

Levels 27-31 · Glacier Cave · Beneath New Saellem

The winding ice vault straight under the crater field of the First Rift, where the landing pods did not stop at the crater floor. They punched through the rock of the plateau and came to rest half sunk in Korvann's ice, splitting open and spilling Seekers into the dark, and the cold of them spreads through the vault in violet rings. A ragged impact shaft climbs from the rubble cone to daylight in a pod crater on the cliff above. Up the vault the Seekers have laid out everything they have found in precise, scored rows, and Reavers stand guard over the bores they are driving east toward a green light in the ice.

The Glacier Root

Levels 30-34 · Glacier Cave · Beneath New Saellem

The root of the Ettephemone glacier, a tongue of old blue ice that runs north under the plateau from the mountains, where something of the Avatar of Life whose name it bears still lingers: inside the ice, ferns and flowers grow green, a stag hangs green in mid-leap, and a frozen spring smells of rain. This is the divine trace the Seekers came down to find. Their bores riddle the root and their siphon lines thread it like veins, drawing the green out until the ice goes grey; Reavers guard the work. A great harvest bore spirals down to the rootheart, where a harvester has rooted itself around the last of the light and is drinking it.
