Adventure Sites in Meneshal#

One of the Bleak’s places on Adventure Sites, which has the map of every site. Using a site says how to run one.

The catacombs of fallen Menes under Esthar, and the drowned undervaults the old tellings name for Amone. The tombs here remember names the surface has forgotten. 6 sites, levels 9 to 13.

The Sunken Narthex

Levels 9-11 · Catacomb · Beneath Esthar

The entry hall of the Tombs of Amone, a sunken narthex whose nave runs north and south between transepts of stacked dead. The way east leads on to the mausoleum halls of the ancients.

The Hall of the Ancients

Levels 10-12 · Mausoleum · Beneath Esthar

The great mausoleum of the Tombs of Amone, a pillared hall of black sarcophagi where the ancients of Menes lie crowned and armed. The processional runs from the narthex in the west to the drowned undervault in the east.

The Bier Road

Levels 11-12 · Catacomb · Beneath Esthar

The west end of the Processional of Menes, the funeral road the old city cut under itself to carry its dead west to the barrow of Amone. Here the biers were made ready, the mourners masked and the grave-goods tolled before the long walk. The road still runs west into the dark, and the Silent Choir has been down it lately with stakes and chalk.

The Ash Vaults

Levels 11-13 · Crypt · Beneath Esthar

The east end of the Processional of Menes, under the Ashen Gallery. On the night of the Fall the city burned above these vaults and its ash came down the light-wells for days, burying chapels, cellars and the dead alike. The road runs on east out of the ash toward the fire country, and the living city has used the vaults since for its own secrets: the timbered tunnel and the crates of masks belong to General Menes's coup.

The Drowned Undervault

Levels 11-13 · Anchialine Cave · Beneath Esthar

The drowned undervault the old tellings name for Amone, a flooded hall of black water and submerged friezes. A crypt-arch descends from it into the Crypt of Menes below, where the last king of Menus keeps his vigil, the king the tellings call the last of Amone.

The Ossuary of Menes

Levels 12-13 · Ossuary · Beneath Esthar

The heart of the Processional of Menes: a great bone rotunda where the road passes through the stacked dead of the old city, millions of them, sorted skull by skull and femur by femur into walls and chapels. Under the rotunda a stair the priests never used goes down to the Traitors' Pit, where Ritkus's household was walled up alive after the Fall.
