Light#

Light is an integral part of the storytelling and video game alike. Important things that influence light are the time of day, the weather, the environment, and magical affects. All of these items have their perspective sections in this documentary project. Light is distinguished in sectors of space. The current location of the player is the origin sector. Sectors sizes are dependant on the dungeon master. Plains of Sedia uses a base sector size of 8 feet, where all naturally carried lanterns and sources of light cast no further than the origin sector. An item that adds +1 light means that light is visible in square the player is in if there are no other affects. If a different player has an item with -1 light as well then there is no light in the area. Magical affects can increase or decrease the lighting of the area. Lighting can help a rogue stealthily sneak around an enemy or upon an enemy to attack them. The second the lighting changes, however, all players and mobiles in the origin sector of changed light notice immediately.
