Elf#
You'll be dust before this tree is grown. I planted it anyway. Think about that.
Elves live longer than any other race you can play, up to 750 years, and spend most of it away from everyone else. Quick hands and sharp minds, but they bruise easily.
How they live#
Elves favor warm country like Darkwood and say very little to the rest of the world. They’re slow to have children and slower to explain themselves.
The one people elves seek out is humans, which is where half-elves come from.
- Temper
- Slow to anger. Hard times rarely turn them on anyone.
- Leaving
- They give up on a city early and leave all together, the whole community at once.
- Money
- Save nearly everything they have left over.
- Crowds
- Feel crowded long before anyone else does.
- Tongue
- Elvish, spoken from birth and known perfectly, besides common.
- Drawn to
- Half-elves and humans, as much as to their own kind.
- Children with elves
- Elf
What others say#
An elf will listen to your whole life story and still remember it after your grandchildren have forgotten your name.
They call us hasty. Everyone is hasty next to someone with seven hundred years.
Where they live#
How elves feel about settling in each of Sedia’s provinces. Each links to the province’s page, and Home Province covers what it takes to become a citizen of one.
- Glad to live in
- TharsisNew SaellemCrecia
Body and blood#
- Era
- The elder races (Age of Peace, about 26,000 BB)
- Lifespan
- Comes of age at 100 and can live to 750
- Height
- 4 to 5 feet
- Weight
- 70 to 130 pounds
- Genders
- Female (6 in 10) and male (4 in 10)
- Favored stats
- Dexterity and charisma (the game's race menu lists these; they don't change your scores)
Playing an elf#
Any race can take any class. These are the ones elves start closest to, with the race’s starting score in each of the class’s two stats.
A seed planted
An elf asks the party to carry something to Darkwood and won’t say what it is. It has been on the road for three generations of couriers, and the party is the latest.
Names#
Long and flowing, built on l, r, s and th with soft vowel pairs. Nothing ends hard. Penelopy, Cyphos, Eremayis, Photia Yohstis, Quilotal.
