Alchemy#

Alchemy can make potions for lasting longer in combat as well as magical applicants which may be applied onto weapons or armor to imbue magical properties. Alchemists make their potions and applicant brews by first identifying and gathering herbs in the wild. In addition to herbs, some other common metals and materials may be used. A potions worth is based on its craftsmanship quality where a trash quality potion is actually worth 80% less than its individual requirements if they were sold individually. There are 4 phases of creating a potion with each phase adding to the final potion quality by accumulating the alchemists specific rank aptitude roll during each phase. If the alchemists were an apprentice they would add 1d6+4 all 4 phases. The final roll is compared against whether the potion was a single or double affix - whether they wanted just a prefix/suffix or both – and then given the relative craftsmanship. No container type is specified when creating a potion, the procured potion will be dependent on the output craftsmanship quality. If the output potion craft is Exceptional than the container is an Erlenmeyer Flask. This is due to a reduction in wasted material when the alchemist does better. Alchemy Process

Unlocking Affixes#

Prefix and suffixes unlock at different times depending on the tradesguild rank of the alchemist. When they both unlock potions may be crafted that use both at the same time, but that is at the cost of additional difficulty and possibility to fail making a potion and instead producing trash instead.
