Animal Husbandry#

Animals can assist in attacking or defending, holding items or merely by providing companionship. The animal husbandry tradesguild allows the taming of animals to become pets. Anyone can purchase already tamed pets or mounts (see Purchasable Creatures & Purcasable Mounts sections,) but only the animal husbandry tradesguild allows access to some of the most rare and unique pets. The additional animals that may be trained can be found in the Non-Purchasable Creatures section. Note that magical creatures may not be tamed as their intelligence either usually way too high or their demeanors and needs aren’t entirely conducive for companionship.

Materials#

| Name | Description | |—|—| | tame | allows the animal husbandry expert to tame a wild creature as a pet. requires a focus charm. | | teach | allows the animal husbandry expert to teach a tamed creature a certain action. actions available are attack, defend, stay, and follow. | | lore creature | allows the animal husbandry expert to identify a creature, it’s weaknesses, and other information that might be useful about the creature. | | break animal | allows the animal husbandry expert to attempt to break-in an animal for riding. this skill may not succeed the first few times and may have to be retried more often on some of the more stubborn animals. | | brush | brush an animal to increase the animals value and reduce it’s temper. this is especially helpful on mounts or animals that are rode. | | name creature | allows the animal husbandry expert to name it’s pet creature or mount, increasing it’s value. | | calm | allows the animal husbandry expert to attempt to calm an untamable creature to a passive state to prevent unecessary battle. | | install horseshoes | requires 4 horseshoes in inventory. installs horseshoes on all of the feet of a horse mount. once a horseshoe goes bad on a horse, that horses health will decrease rapidly, especially during riding. installing new horseshoes will prevent the decrease of health during the mounts movement. |
