Endurance#

The sigil of the rode of endurance

When you fall, get up. You're only beaten when you don't.

Sinthos, master of endurance

The rode of the ones who keep going. It restores your stamina on its own, a little every turn, so you can fight on long after you'd have stopped.

Ranks and tests#

Stamina. Restores stamina, the reserve every skill is used from. 1d4 at rank 1, up to 1d20+10 at rank 5. Rodes of renewal has the rest of its kind.

When a rode of renewal restores

Roll your rank’s die at the start of each of your turns in a fight and restore that much. Outside a fight, roll it once for every hour you rest. It never takes you past your maximum, and it can’t bring you back from 0 health.

The master#

Sinthos runs the log flume at Hatchet, where the timber comes down off the mountains, and has never given anyone a second name. Every walker he has trained has been knocked into the flume at least once, and he has pulled every one of them out.

Find Sinthos at the log flume at Hatchet, in Tharsis. Where the masters teach maps all fourteen.

How it shows#

None of this changes a roll. It’s how the people around you can tell what you walk, if you want them to.

  • You bounce on your heels when you’re idle, as if you’re about to go again.
  • You’re the last one to sit down.

Who walks it#

What others say#

Sinthos threw me in the flume on my first day. I was so angry I stayed six years.

Endurance walkers aren't the strongest in a fight. They're the ones still in it at the end.

The long road

Sinthos needs a message carried to the Port of Doonan faster than a horse can take it, because horses have been dying on that road. A walker of endurance can run it. Whatever is killing the horses hasn’t tried one yet.
