Wisdom#
Wisdom is the spark behind knowing. The wise need be neither clever nor strong. They see what is, and what will be.
The rode of judgment and calm. It raises your wisdom, and with it your willpower and your sense of what's coming.
Ranks and tests#
Each rank adds to your wisdom: +1 WIS at rank 1, up to +5 WIS at rank 5. The bonus sits on top of your score and isn’t held to the maximum training can reach. Rodes of the self has the rest of its kind.

- Level40Rank 2: Walker

The master#
Euphrates Crill sits on a stair in Narsis that the city’s worst walk past every day, and none of them bother him. Nobody remembers how he came to be down there. He says he came to see how the dark gets along without the sun.
Find Euphrates Crill at a lamp-lit stair in Narsis. Where the masters teach maps all fourteen.
How it shows#
None of this changes a roll. It’s how the people around you can tell what you walk, if you want them to.
- You walk with your fingers laced together.
- You stop in a doorway and look at a room before you go in.
Who walks it#
The classes the rode does the most for. Any class can walk it.
The rode finder ranks every rode for a class.
What others say#
There's an old man on the stair. We leave him alone. Everybody who didn't is dead, and he never touched them.
Wisdom is the slow rode. That isn't a complaint, and it took me twenty years to say so.
The way down
A young Tharsian went down to Narsis to take the first test of wisdom and hasn’t come back up. Their family wants them found before the pamphlets in the taverns learn that a Tharsian went to Narsis willingly.
